Principal’s message

Welcome To Kinross College

Proudly an Independent Public School – we are committed to being an effective functioning and moral community, grounded in sound values that are consistently applied and lived by staff and students in all aspects of the College’ s activities.

Over recent years Kinross College has been transformed into having one of the most modern teaching facilities in Western Australia. For a College that is relatively young in age, established in 2002, the internal classrooms and teaching areas have been extensively modernised to create state of the art teaching and learning facilities that we believe are second to none.

Seven million dollars have been spent on these classrooms in 2016 and a further 2.5 million dollars has been earmarked by the State Government to further enhance the existing teaching facilities.

Some of the features included in this next phase will be a purpose built music facility with recording studio and a Science, Technology and Engineering Centre that will house the latest resources available, to create a space where students use technology to create and solve new world issues and problems. Robotics, Automation and Coding will be central to these problem solving challenges.

We know that students and particularly parents, send their children to school and expect their child will be both happy and safe whilst in the care of the school. Kinross College is recognised as having one of the best pastoral care systems in education and strives to make sure each child’s experience during their time at Kinross College is both positive and productive.

Kinross College has developed a wonderful liaison with its community and have numerous programs and initiatives that bring the community and the College together throughout the year.

Kinross College has the largest and arguably the most successful Police Ranger Cadet programs operating in the state, involving some 150 students and Instructors that operate on Wednesday’s after hours.

Kinross College also offers gifted and talent programs in an academic stream from years 7 to 10 as well as in Music, Soccer and Basketball.

The College Community should feel very proud and connected to their school. We have very high behavioural expectations of our student s and have a strong focus on all students adhering to the College uniform in line with what the community has indicated to us they support.

The College has also had some remarkable academic successes over the last few years in particular with students competing impressively at state, national and international levels within the World Scholars Cup.

We aim to deliver far more than just academic results – and a focus beyond the achievement of grades – we seek to develop the whole child as a unique and valued individual.

As a College we believe that every child matters every day.
