PROGRAMS WE OFFER
ACADEMIC EXTENSION
The Kinross Extension & Acceleration (KEA) Program caters to the needs of talented and gifted students. Earning a position in the program is the key to your child excelling and engaging throughout Years 7 – 10. If your child earns a position in the program they will be grouped with like-minded students and taught a specialised program that will prepare them for Years 11, 12 and University.
LEARNING SUPPORT
Learning Support at Kinross College seeks to provide resources, teaching and learning opportunities with an individualised approach to ensure all students access curriculum (at their assessed level) to reach their full academic and social potential. Our well-resourced and fully trained Learning Support Team, also utilise resources from the Department of Education Special Educational Needs Unit and other training providers to deliver innovative and contemporary support to students.
PASTORAL CARE
Our Student Services Team supports the health and wellbeing of students and encourages a positive school environment. These supports include:

DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD
At Kinross College, students can participate and complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award. This is an internationally recognised award that challenges students to engage in four areas:
Voluntary service
Development of a skill
Physical recreation
Adventurous journey
This award encourages students to engage with the community and environment around them, increasing their connection to the world they live in.
AVIATION ACADEMY
Let your dreams take flight!
Do you aspire to be a pilot and desire for further knowledge in the aviation and engineering industries? Kinross College is one of six schools in WA to offer an Aviation program.
Our Academy offers:
• Full motion Flight Simulator Students have the experience flying a 3 axis motion flight simulator. The simulator’s moving platform is sychronised with the flight simulator software, so as students manipulate the flight controls, they experience realistic sensations of rolling, pitching and yawing. The view from the cockpit provides an immersive perspective.
• Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) related activities. This includes 3D printing, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Laser Cutting projects, Mechatronics and Electro Technology.
• Flight Lessons Students are encouraged to participate in flying lessons outside of school. Lessons can also be booked at flying schools such as the Royal Aero Club of W.A.
• Drone The use of drones has become increasingly popular for a wide range of fields such as aerial photography, videography, inspection, surveying and mapping. Students will develop skills and techniques in drone flying.
