Kinross College aims to promote high achievement and high interest for our students. We deliver a core program in the learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Society and Environment and Health and Physical Education. The broad banners of The Arts, Languages, and Technology and Enterprise include specialist areas such as visual and performing arts, design technology, home economics, French, and digital media. Students have increasingly more opportunity to focus on particular subject areas as they move into Yrs 9 and 10.
All students at Kinross College have a learning entitlement as outlined in the Australian Curriculum. This sets out what young people should be taught through the specification of curriculum content from learning areas, general capabilities and cross-curricula priorities. Teachers at Kinross College are implementing the Australian Curriculum through a staged process supported by the Department of Education, via the provision of online information, teaching and learning resources and professional support.
To assist parents and students, the current learning outlines are available on the curriculum resources page. These outlines cover the general program and provide an overview of assessment periods, curriculum content and concepts. The elective booklets for Yr 9 and 10 students are another source of information also available under the curriculum resources page.
