Science
The primary goal of the Science Department at Kinross College is to support the school’s commitment to students’ academic, social and emotional needs.
To accomplish this goal, the Science department implements a diverse and equitable curriculum aligned with the achievement standards of the Australian Curriculum.
Our team of Science teachers uses the Explicit Teaching model to deliver content through a range of contexts. Students are engaged within the three interrelated strands of Science; Inquiry Skills, Science as a Human Endeavour, and Science Understanding. Teachers create a learning environment that focuses on conceptual learning and engages students in meaningful activities that enable them to apply and communicate their knowledge.
Technology is used as a tool to help all students actively learn science in inquiry-based activities. High expectations are emphasised for all students in both work presentation and achievement.
