Congratulations KC World Scholars!
Recently twelve Kinross College students participated in the Perth Round of the World Scholars Cup, held at Aquinas College and Sacred Heart College.

The students competed both individually and as members of 2 or 3 person teams in a variety of areas including Arts and Literature, Science and Technology and Social Studies. Students had to complete a variety of tasks including debating, a writing competition a multiple-choice test and a Kahoot style team test. Vanessa and Layla also showed their individual performing talents in the Scholars Show, completing a dance routine and an original song respectively.

Competing to a very high level, all twelve Kinross students qualified for the Global Rounds, where they have been invited to Auckland in September to represent themselves and Kinross College at the international level.
A huge congratulations to all students involved.

With the current cost of living crisis and focusing on sustainability, Kinross College are reviving the uniform recycling program.

Our Sustainable Schoolwear Initiative will offer two options for second-hand uniforms in good condition:

💢Donate uniform items to the College.
💢Sell the uniform item to the College in lieu of using other social media platforms.

Simply bring the item to Mr. Avenell in the front office, or send it with your child. A price will be negotiated based on the quality and type of uniform. The acquired uniform items will then be made available to students in need.

Mens Health Week 13-19 June
This Week is all about raising awareness and taking action to prioritise men’s health.

Today’s men are more likely to seek help for physical health issues that their dads and grandfathers, but is this the case when it comes to mental health? Like your physical health, the earlier you can get on top of looking after your mental health and wellbeing, the better.

We need to encourage everyone to look out for the men in their life - husband, partner, father, brother, colleague, team mate or gym buddy – are they struggling? Reach out and ask Are you OK?.

As we celebrate Men’s Health Week, remember to keep those screenings on the agenda and don’t hesitate to have that awkward conversation with your GP. After all, it’s your health we’re talking about and you’re worth more than a quick check up!
